Welcome to the University of Maryland M Club web site. The M Club Foundation at the University of Maryland, one of the oldest letter winner clubs in the country, was founded in 1923. We have a proud tradition of "Athletes Helping Athletes". The M Club exists within the Athletic Department to provide former Terrapin athletic letter winners the opportunity to continue to be involved in Maryland athletics once their eligibility has expired. There are no better ambassadors for Maryland Athletics than those who have competed while wearing the Terrapin colors.
 

Dave Diehl Announces His Retirement

It is with very mixed emotion that I would like to share with you my plan to retire as Executive Director of the M Club as of June 30th. As many of you already know, this position was my second career, as I had already retired once before (maybe I’ll get it right this time). After twelve and a half years leading the M Club we have accomplished much. Thanks to all of you our active membership has grown from 300 to over 1500 in those years. In addition, the M Club has created a post-graduate scholarship program and has provided many tens of thousands of dollars to help our current student-athletes through our outstanding Academic Support & Career Development Unit by purchasing computers, sponsoring networking and other workshops and printing of the annual senior resume publication, just to name a few. Our M Club is now recognized as one of the best and most respected letter winner organizations in the country and are often consulted by other schools around the nation. Hopefully these, and the dozens of other initiatives, will continue in the future as our M Club grows even bigger and better.
