Chronological History of M Club Actions

- A Career Fair, sponsored jointly by the Academic Support Unit and the M Club, was held in Cole Field House on April 3. The President's Cup Brunch was held on April 9 at the Inn & Conference Center.
- With the help of Russ Edwards and Stan Gelbaugh, the M Club now has a website, www.umd-mclub.org.
- The Comcast Center is expected to open in the fall of 2002. We have donated $500,000 to the University for naming rights to a 3-story area devoted to a Sports Walk of Fame and History and a Hall of Fame. Jack Zane heads this project.
- The 5th Annual Letter winner's Day will be held on October 21. We will have a tailgate party before the Homecoming game with Wake Forest and a half-time recognition ceremony on the field.
- We will honor the 1949 football team that played in the Gator Bowl and the 1950 team that was the first to play in Byrd Stadium. Golf and dinner will be held on November 3, and a half-time recognition ceremony will be held on November 9 during the N.C. State game.
- During fiscal year 2000, we provided the Athletic Department with over $200,000 in direct and indirect aid in support of the athletic program.
- Our assets for fiscal 2000 totaled almost $1.8 million.
