- More than 150 letter winners were recognized on the field at the home football game on September 11. A tailgate party is being planned for next year with names of those present being recognized on the scoreboard at Byrd Stadium.
- The active membership continues to grow and now exceeds 800. We expect to reach 1,000 active members in the year 2000.
- We have revised our operating agreement with the University in order to increase our annual scholarship donation. The M Club will pay the Athletic Department 50 percent of the growth of our endowment money. In the event of zero growth or loss, we will pay the University 50 percent of the income earned (ordinary dividends and interest).
- The M Club is working on a program to award letters to women who competed as varsity athletes prior to letters being awarded for their sports. We are now seeking names and addresses of these athletes and expect to have an awards ceremony as early as possible.
- The M Club continues to participate in a new credit card arrangement with First USA bank. We made an up front payment to the Athletic Department of $584,812 and will receive $55,000 annually for the next seven years.
- The 1984 football team was honored at the UNC game on October 23. This team won the ACC Championship and was ranked No. 12 in the nation, beating Tennessee in the Sun Bowl. It also made the greatest comeback win in intercollegiate history when it beat Miami, 42-40.

16 to elect new inductees to be honored at the 48th Annual
Sports Awards Banquet in May 2000*.

- The 26th Annual Rodman Celebrity Golf Tournament held on September 14 earned over $31,000 for our scholarship fund. During the history of this tournament, over $800,000 has been raised, the M Club's most successful fundraising event.
